The AEG Powertools Darren Morgan Racing (DMR) will return to Sydney Dragway this weekend (October 30-31), hoping to continue where it left off at the recent Australian Nationals.

After emerging victorious at its last outing team driver, Darren Morgan, enters the second ANDRA Pro Series round at the top of the point standings, but with a field of nine Top Fuel cars entered, Morgan knows it is going to be a tough battle.

"We are looking to maintain the consistency that took us to victory at the Nationals,” team owner Darren Morgan said.

“The track conditions are looking very good and we are eager to lay down some more strong numbers this weekend. The team is really excited heading into this round and we are looking to extend our championship lead.

“Winning the Nationals was a big boost for our championship aspirations and a great win for AEG Powertools. We are looking to further build on that success this weekend.”

Since winning the opening 2010-11 ANDRA Pro Series Top Fuel Championship round, the team has made several changes to its engine combination in an attempt to fix the problems that plagued it at the Nationals.

“We found some problems after the Nationals and are confident we will have the AEG Powertools Dragster on song for the first qualifier on Saturday.

“We have put together four new engines along with a large arsenal of spares. When you consider the work we have done to the car along with the promotional events we have attended, it has been a very busy seven weeks for the team,” crew chief Ben Patterson said.

The promotional events Patterson was referring to included a Bunnings Trade Centre launch at Pakenham in Victoria and a visit to the local Mildura show.

The Bunnings Trade Centre event was successful with AEG and Bunnings being impressed with DMR and its professionalism.

For the remainder of the weekend the bright orange AEG machine was on display at the Mildura Show with Morgan delighting patrons with a start-up on Saturday night.

The DMR team will be doing a promotional event for Kennards Hire on the Friday morning before heading to the Sydney track to setup and prepare in the afternoon.
